Travel Awards

David A. Benfield Student Travel Fellowship

Application deadline:  August 25, 2011


 The David A. Benfield Student Travel Fellowship is directed at supporting students who attend the International PRRS Symposium. Applicants must be doctoral students at universities and research institutions that reside outside of the United States. Recipients must submit an abstract to the symposium (www.prrssymposium.org) and present original research findings in oral or poster format at the 2011 International PRRS Symposium in Chicago.

The application packet should include:
• A maximum three page curriculum vitae with contact information (email, phone number and address), education/employment history, current position, publications, presentations, abstracts and awards.
• A maximum one page description of research interests including short and long term career goals.
• A copy of the abstract submitted to the International PRRS Symposium.

Application materials should be sent electronically as a single pdf file to Raymond (Bob) Rowland at browland@vet.k-state.edu with a copy to Rebecca Eaves at reaves@vet.k-state.edu.  Receipt of application will be verified via email. Review of applications by the fellowship committee will begin August 25th and recipients notified soon after.  Up to $1,000 (U.S.) will be made available to support travel and accommodations related to the meeting. Fellowship recipients will be recognized at the International PRRS Symposium conference.
