Abstract Submission Guidelines
(Deadline August 25, 2008)
 
  1. Abstract is formatted with single spacing as a Word document.
  2. Abstract is 5 ¼” (13.5 cm) wide and 4 ½” (11.5 cm) high (margins) on an 8.5" x 11" page. Do not put a border around the text area. Do not type abstract in a "text box".
  3. The title should be followed first by the authors, and then author affiliations.
  4. Designate with asterisk (use only an asterisk) the person who is presenting at the meeting.
  5. Your abstract should be informative, containing: a) a short statement of the study’s specific objective, b) a brief statement of methods, c) a summary of the results, and d) a statement of the conclusions.
  6. Abstract is font style Times New Roman, font size 10 or larger. The abstract will be reduced for the “Proceedings”. Font sizes smaller than 10 become unreadable.
  7. The title is not underlined, bold, italic, nor entirely in upper case.
  8. Italicize only scientific words. Do not italicize the entire title or author names.

  9. Submit your abstract via the web site at http://www.prrssymposium.org/presentationregistration.aspx. Do not fax or send a hard copy of your abstract. Please make sure the Word document opens on a PC computer. For questions contact Lisa Becton at lbecton@pork.org
     
  10. The majority of submissions will be selected for poster presentation. A limited number of abstracts will be selected for oral presentation. Poster boards will be provided for the Poster Sessions. The boards will be approximately 4’H by 8’W. Tacks are not provided. Those selected for oral presentation will be notified. Oral presentations will be in PowerPoint format.
  11. Submission of an abstract to the PRRS International Symposium DOES NOT constitute submission to CRWAD. The PRRS International Symposium is held in conjunction with CRWAD, but is a distinct meeting. Therefore, you are encouraged to also submit your abstract for presentation at CRWAD in order to promote the widest dissemination of your research findings.  The CRWAD website can be found at http://www.cvmbs.colostate.edu/mip/crwad/.
     
  12. If a corrected abstract attachment must be e-mailed at a later time, please note in the e-mail to PrrsSymposium@pork.org that it is a corrected abstract.  Do not change the title when you resubmit the attachment.  Also note what the correction is.
    Please Note:  No corrections to submissions will be accepted after the submission deadline of August 25th, 2008 .
